I have five granddaughters . My favorite eldest granddaughter is in her twenties. Very shortly after she was born, we all went to Home Depot. We took pictures of Elizabeth of many names in the parking lot as we went in, ensuring that the pictures captured Lizzie and the Home Depot Sign.
At the time, my partner and I were renovating 163 Country Aire in Campbell River British Columbia, on Vancouver Island. In honor of my favorite eldest granddaughter, we were in Vancouver, Burnaby, where her parents lived, to congratulate them on a job well done : ie: grandma wanted to see the baby.
I wanted to look around at a Home Depot, see what there was to see in the big city. See what we were missing.
At the time, our weekends were $1,000 on Friday, $1,000 on Saturday and $1,000 Sunday as we transformed a Roy Rogers Dale Evans Dark Spindle rancher in to something with a bit more Feng Shui. ... Takes a licking, keeps on ticking. Today we are in our 70s. I am selling decades of tools that I have collected @ 50% percent off! Everything that makes dust, I have my reasons and they are good ones. Slow, not stupid!
Tools are mostly easy to sell and the sales are paying for a renovation of the kitchen, office, utility room and (no longer) garage flooring. I have found excellent local contractors (ask me who?) and as a result the old flooring is up, the garage is closed in, there is heat in the garage and a level two EV charger but there is no flooring. Home Depot!
Ask me if I would take pictures again.
